He also starred as Spence Kovak on the sitcom Ellen and as Harry Selfridge in the British period drama Mr. Selfridge.

Jeremy Piven was born and raised in Manhattan, New York City. His parents cofounded Piven Theatre Workshop, where he honed his acting skills and learned the Meisner technique. He later attended Harand Theater Camp in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, where he played Bernardo in West Side Story. He went on to attend Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and then New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating, he continued his studies at the Actors Studio Drama School.
